Milestones

1996

Tersan’s history goes back to mid. nineties when the group was initially established as a ship service company which included agency services, operations and management providing a wide range of services for the vessels going in and out of Black Sea region via passing through Bosphorus straight.

1998

The big bang of shipyard activities; the group acquired a shipyard area with a floating dock in Istanbul’s Tuzla shipyard’s region, with this move the group extended its portfolio into ship repair, maintenance, overhaul and ship docking.

2001

Tersan Group established their new building yard in the same region of Tuzla/Istanbul but separately from the repair yard. The first new building project was successfully delivered in 2002 which is followed by a number of challenging new building projects until 2008.

2007

The Group started a ship owning company with 7 pcs of chemical tankers where both technical and commercial operations of the fleet handled by Tersan’s new established company.

2008

The repair yard remaining active in Tuzla, Istanbul, Tersan’s ship building division moved all its new building activities to todays’s location in Yalova. New facilities in Yalova has been designed and developed by Tersan’s own experienced team together with a group of high-qualified architects, building the facility from scratch in the light of their expertise.

2013

Tersan has been awarded as the Export leader of Turkey in Ship and yacht building sector for the first time in 2013. From 2013, Tersan maintains its export leadership in the sector.

2013

Tersan has further expanded its services by establishing a bigger repair division within the Yalova premises in addition to their operations in Istanbul. Following the expansion, the headquarters of the group has been moved to Yalova premises.

2016

Tersan’s export rate has increased % 77 compared to previous year with a record breaking export for the sector.

2019

Tersan has increased its repair capacity by % 150 introducing the biggest floating dock built in Turkey which is 284 meters long and able to accommodate Aframax sized vessels. (the dock is being further lengthened to 310 meters in 2021 in order to meet the increasing demands)

2020

Almost doubled between 2008 and 2020 with acquisition of 119.000 m² of neighbour lands, total production area of Tersan Shiyard increased to 300.000 sqm.

2023

Until today, a number of special new building projects like purpose build advanced factory fishing vessels, sophisticated offshore vessels , electric (battery) driven ferries and many repair projects have been delivered successfully. We are steadily increasing orders in order books for both challenging new building projects and also for repair projects and continuing to accelerate our infrastructure, facilities and R&D investments.
