ANGELA MERKEL CHRISTENED “MARK” ROS 777

The new “Mark” ROS 777 stern factory freezer trawler, built and delivered by Tersan Shipyard is baptised in Germany. The 86 meters long trawler will be operated by "Warnemünder Hochseefischerei GmbH", the German daughter company of Parlevliet and Van der Plas.

The state-of-the art ship is christened by the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Sassnitz Mukran close the place where Angela Merkel grew up. New Mark is one of the newest addition to German fishing fleet, the big trawler will be mainly fishing cod and haddock in northern waters and she will land her catches in Bremerhaven.

Tersan Shipyard cooperated with Skipsteknisk for the design of this modern, low fuel consumption trawler. The 86,1 meter long and 16 meters beam vessel is accomodating 34 persons in its modern living spaces. The trawler is fitted with a main engine of 4000 kW power and electric driven fishing winches on deck. Among having the honor of being christened by Angela Merkel, Mark is also very special for its name, the vessel is named after the son of director Diederik Parlevliet who lost his life in a tragic accident in 2013.
