With a new and ground breaking step, Tersan Shipyard has installed solar roof energy panels on top of the closed workshops consisting of totally about 8.800 solar panels. The capacity of solar roof system is 3,8 MW power and Tersan’s roof has started to generate more than 4.900.000 kWh of energy per year which means almost %30 of their total energy usage. The installation has lasted nearly one month starting in September and compeleted in October.
Switching to renewable energy sources is vital for the global transition to a low or zero carbon economy.Tersan is already building environmental friendly & green ships which would, not only comply with the new environmental rules and regulations but would also leave least possible carbon foot-prints. With the new solar energy system we can say that Tersan took bold climate action and align its energy procurement strategies with the sustainability goals set forth by initiatives.
